Late November is the best-value week of the year: Christmas markets open, beer gardens close, prices drop — and the brewery tours are half empty.
Memmelsdorf is the quiet way to do Bamberg: two village breweries on the doorstep and the Rauchbier town six kilometres away.
Book Budvar and Pilsner Urquell in advance — in late November the English tours run once or twice a day.
České Budějovice → Berchtesgaden at 256 km / 3 h 05 is the long day; it crosses into Bavaria through the forest and there is nowhere to rush.
Five nights in Munich is the right length for Advent: one market day, one day trip, one museum day and two slow evenings.
